About the Founder
From a young age, Sumorria Mays showed an inherent drive to improve the lives of others. What began as delivering her grandmother’s home-cooked meals to seniors in the community turned into daily companionship, help with chores, and safety visits. These experiences would sow the seeds of wisdom—Sumorria genuinely enjoyed listening to the stories of elders who gave insights into life’s treasures that could only be gained by firsthand experience.
She realized that seniors and the disabled faced many unique challenges in their day-to-day lives and that significant gaps in the healthcare system often forced families to move loved ones into nursing facilities away from the familiar comforts of home.
Determined to focus on important undeveloped areas such as at-home elderly care, Sumorria entered the healthcare sector. She spent many years refining her skills, working as a Certified Nursing Aide for five years and receiving an Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Lee College. Sumorria was regularly recognized for her dedication to patients and upholding high-quality healthcare standards throughout her career. She founded aMAYSing Grace Home Care in 2018.
